	Family Events Free Weekend & Holiday Events for Children and Families All events are free, except where indicated. Some require a ticket, which can be obtained from the Information Desk in the Main Hall of the Gallery, one hour before the event starts. Please note workshop places are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first served basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

A competition has been announced: Song wanted for very special singer. The town of Brighton goes song crazy and everyone is eager to write the best song for the mystery singer. Find out who wins and what the very exciting prize will be. September	Saturday 27 September 2008, 11:00 - 16:30 Opening Up To celebrate the launch of the Cultural Olympiad, poet John Siddique will work with families and young people on poetry building workshops and poetry readings inspired by the Gallery's Collection. Free

October	Saturday 18 October 2008, 13:00 - 16:00 Drop-in event The Big Floor Draw Come and create a collaborative continuous line drawing exploring the Gallery space frommultiple viewpoints. Led by artists Emma Middleton and Viyki Turnbull. Part of the Big Draw campaign. Free

October	Saturday 18 October 2008, 14:00, 15:00 Storytelling for Families Drop-in storytelling sessions in the Gallery on the third Saturday of every month. Suitable for ages 3+. October -	Monday 27 October 2008 - 31 October 2008, 11:30, 14:30 A Gallery of Ghosts A week of half-term art activities inspired by the Polka Theatre's new play, Ghosts in the Gallery. Families will look at the portraits together before creating their own 'spooky' works of art. Suitable for ages 5+. Free ticket required and available one hour before the event starts from the Information Desk in the Main Hall

October	Friday 31 October 2008, 18:30 Ghosts in the Gallery This special performance features characters from the Polka Theatre's play, Ghosts in the Gallery, which explores what happens to theportraits when the Gallery doors have closed on Halloween night.
