The central x-ray shows that the gloves were originally painted in the hand on the right but were moved to the other hand when the white rod was added; the original gloves are faintly evident on the surface in both normal and ultra violet light. The x-ray also shows that the cartellino in the upper left-hand corner was originally lower and the oval shape above suggests that the coat of arms was intended to be painted above it. The image taken in ultra violet light on the right shows the restoration in the face and hands.
