The modern wooden backing to the support can be seen in the x-ray in the centre, and the screws holding the battens of oak to the edge are clearly evident. The x-ray also shows the areas of damage and loss that have been overpainted. There is some reflection off the gold leaf in the bodice in the digital infrared reflectogram on the right. This image also reveals drawing with pouncing along the outline of the shoulder and sleeve on the left, and there is also some pouncing evident in the pearls in the headdress.
