The first official painted portrait of the Duchess of Cambridge will be on display at The Holburne Museum in Bath until 6 November.
Painting Her Royal Highness at the beginning of her public life, The Duchess was able to give artist Paul Emsley two sittings, the first at Kensington Palace and the second at the artist’s studio. This is the first time the National Portrait Gallery has lent the portrait, which was painted a few miles from The Holburne Museum in Emsley’s studio in Bradford on Avon. A film about the making of the portrait will also be available to view in the Sackler Discovery Centre at the Holburne.
