Woodward Portrait Explorer on CD-ROM

The Woodward Portrait Explorer on CD-ROM is available from the National Portrait Gallery’s online shop.

Technical Requirements
Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, NT or XP

  • SVGA colour display or better (at least 640 x 480 pixels with at least 256 colours, thousands or millions of colours recommended)
  • QuickTime® software, version 3 or later (version 4 is included on the CD-ROM
  • 16Mb of available RAM (32Mb on Windows NT, Windows 2000 and XP)
  • 20Mb of hard disk space for installation

Macintosh System 7.0 or later up to OSX for those computers using PowerPC processors. This CD-ROM is incompatible with OSX computers using Intel processors. (To check if your computer is compatible, please refer to Apple’s support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1531)

Known Issues
The portrait of King Edward VI by William Scrots (NPG 1299) will not display on some computers.

Date Searching
The CD-ROM does not offer the facility to search by date of work or historical period.

Printing
It is not possible to print Portrait Explorer on CD-ROM images. High quality digital images can be ordered via the web link tab on each portrait page.

Networking
The Woodward Portrait Explorer on CD-ROM has been designed as a product to be designed for use on one computer and is not to be used in a network environment.

However, discounts are available as follows

Trade (10+ units) - 25% - £12.77
Educational 5-10 units - 10% - £15.32
Educational 10+ units - 15% - £14.47
