Letter from Frederick Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood, 1st Marquess of Dufferin and Ava to G.F. Watts, dated 6 January 1901, informing the artist that he has been sitting to his former pupil Henrietta Rae.
6th, Decr. 1901.
My dear Watts,
For the sake of old times, I daresay you will be glad to see the outside of the enclosed, but you must not think of reading it, though perhaps it might interest Mrs. Watts.
I have been sitting to an old pupil of yours, Henrietta Rae. She was given the commission by the Ulster Yacht Club, whose flag has been flown by the Shamrocks, No. 1 and 2, and the Club are quite satisfied with her performance.
I don't often trouble you with a letter, but I have never forgotten your many kindnesses.
Dufferin and Ava
