||Letter from Marc Isambard Brunel to William Brockedon, dated 22 May 1834, arranging for Brockedon to make of a tour of the dockyards.|
My dear Sir
No particular recommendations are necessary to be admitted into the Dockyards, nor shall you find any Difficulty in seeing the Block machinery. However in case that Establishment should afford you a little more interest than it may to others, if you make yourself known as a friend of mine, even by exhibiting this letter if necessary, the Master of the Mill will, I have no doubt afford you every information you may wish for yourself or your son.
Wishing you a pleasant excursion
I am my dear Sir
