My Dear Sir John Herschel Much I should like to hear that your cough & your bronchitis are not worse during this winter weather
I know that letter writing
sometimes is the destruction of peace & repose when one's
little scrap of pleasure in leisure is thus snatched - and therefore
I in no wise beg for accounts of you in order to induce you to
write to me again - you have been too good already - Your time,
& Lady Herschels is fully used up I well know each day -
