Portrait Award winners

This prestigious, international portrait painting competition has been held annually at the National Portrait Gallery since 1980. Each year, artists from around the world submit portraits of a range of sitters; from their friends and families to famous faces. The winning artist is also commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery to paint a portrait that subsequently enters the Gallery’s collection.
