Charles II: The Restoration of the Monarchy
This room covers the period from the restoration of the monarchy under Charles II in 1660 until his death in 1685. It is dominated by the full-length portrait of the king himself, flanked on one side by his mistresses the Duchess of Cleveland and Nell Gwyn and on the other by Queen Catherine of Braganza and his sister the Duchess of Orleans. The display also includes a case of miniatures and medals from the period.
