The Later Stuarts: James II, William and Mary, and Anne
This room covers the period from 1685 with the short reign of James II, the joint reign of William and Mary and concludes with Anne's reign up until 1714. On one wall there are portraits of James II, and Mary of Modena, William and Mary, and on the opposite wall a full-length portrait of Anne, next to a portrait of Sarah Jennings, Duchess of Marborough. On the end wall there is additionally a small sketch portrait of the soldier and statesman, the Duke of Marlborough, on horseback.
