Sir Thomas Edmondes (1563?-1639), Diplomat

Known as 'the little man' on account of his stature, Edmondes was one of the most skilful and highly-regarded diplomats of the reigns of both Elizabeth I and James I. Born in Plymouth, he spent much of his career in France and secured a number of important treaties and dynastic marriages.
