Actor, producer, dramatist and critic. As manager of the Court Theatre (1904-7), Granville-Barker introduced works by Shaw, Galsworthy, Masefield and Ibsen, championing naturalism in the theatre. His Shakespeare productions at the Savoy Theatre (1912-4) were hallmarks in theatre history.
