Anthony Trollope

Novelist. Trollope spent his working life as a post office official, for much of the time in Ireland, and claimed to be the inventor of the pillar-box. Best known for his 'Barsetshire' novels, including Barchester Towers, 1857, and for his political novels featuring the Pallisers; he was also the author of several accounts of his travels in the colonies on post office business.
