Sir Thomas TYLDESLEY built a house beside a black pool (on a peat-bog) on the Fylde coast, whose chief place, today, is called BLACKPOOL. His house became known as FOX HALL, as Sir TT kept young foxes there, ??? to hunt after they grew up!! The pub, FOX HALL, on the Golden Mile in Blackpool, marks the spot of Sir TT's home. Behind the bar is an huge enlargement of the etching that exists of Fox Hall.... Sir TT is known as 'THE DIARIST'. This diary may be in the British Library just now, but otherwise is in the care of Peter James TYLDESLEY, a barrister in London, when I last heard of/from him..... See 'THE TYLDESLEYS OF LANCASHIRE - The rise and fall of a great patrician family.' by John LUNN, first published 1966 and printed by St Ann's Press, Park Road, Altrincham, England. Then you will know as much as I do!!!! My Mother was Bessie Tyldesley (NOT Elis/zabeth), of the tribe who lived at ROE GREEN, WORSLEY, and of the FAMOUS cricketing FAMILY..... See the blue plaque on the wall of the INDEPENDENT METHODIST CHAPEL, ROE GREEN, WORSLEY. This was part of the lands of the DUKE of BRIDGEWATER,of Canal fame.... There is an electoral division of Blackpool called TYLDESLEY....
