An influential churchman and statesman, Warham was appointed Bishop of London in 1502 and Archbishop of Canterbury and Lord Chancellor in 1504, and he crowned Henry VIII in 1509. Though he clashed with Wolsey as the latter's power and authority increased, the two men worked together on the King's divorce.
