Bridget, Duchess of Leeds
(1662-1734), Daughter of Sir Thomas and Lady Hyde, later Lady Vyner; wife of 2nd Duke of LeedsSitter in 1 portrait
Bridget, Duchess of Leeds, was the daughter of Sir Thomas Hyde, second baronet, of Aldbury, Hertfordshire, and the step-daughter of Sir Robert Vyner. The marriage was not straightforward, however: she had allegedly previously married her cousin, John Emerton, when she was just twelve, and this match had to be annulled.
