Gilbert Frankau (1884-1952), Writer
Sitter in 16 portraits
A best-selling author of the 1920s and 1930s, Frankau made his name with Peter Jackson, Cigar Merchant (1920), which drew on the family cigar business. Other novels such as Masterson (1923) were popular in their time, but it is chiefly for his war poetry that he is known today.
