Peter Murray Taylor, Baron Taylor of Gosforth was the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales from 1992 until his premature retirement in 1996, due to poor health which led to his death the following year. He was an eloquent critic of flaws in the British criminal justice system, even while serving as Lord Chief Justice.
