Businesswoman and entrepreneur, Dame Anita is the founder of The Body Shop, one of the world's most successful retailers of cosmetics. She is also known as one of the most outspoken social activists in the business world. The first Body Shop opened in Brighton in 1976. Despite her having no formal business training, after 31 years The Body Shop is a multi-local business with over 2045 stores serving in 51 different markets. In 2000, Dame Anita published her autobiography Business and Unusual.
