Helen McDougall was my grandmother's 1st cousin (my 1st cousin x2 removed). She was born in 1905 in Streatham Surrey and died in 1979 at her residence at Cadogan Square, London leaving 196,000.00 pounds in her will. The only two images at the NPG are what I can find of her art but I believe she was a member of the Royal Academy. I would love to see a copy of the painting mentioned by Sara above. She never married.
Helen's mother was Christian Mary McDougall Lamb (sister of my great grandfather George Lamb) Ednam/Eckford Borders, Scotland.
My grandmothers name was Helen McDougall Rishworth nee Lamb (of Scottish decent) and my name is Lisa Marie McDougall Wilson nee Rishworth.
I have researched the family ancestry back through this cadet line of the McDougall/McDowell family of Makerstoun.

My grandfather was raised by Helen after his mother died. I have another of her paintings that is a beautiful landscape. I would love to find out more information about her.

She also drew two pictures of Sir Edwin Deller (1883-1936) and one of Sir Henry Alexander Miers (1858-1942), held at the Senate House of the University of London.
