I work as the Honorary Curator for Fine Arts at the Dorset County Museum. I note that one of our founders was painted by an Anthony du Brue. The sitter, John Mansel-Pleydell lived 1817-1902. The picture features in the Art UK website. Is it possible that your Anthony de Brie and our Anthony du Brue are one and the same. I can find nothing on du Brue on the internet other than our listing on Art UK.

In the 1881 census, there was an Antoine De Brie, aged 25, born Holland visiting at my great grandfather's house. It said he was an artist in oils. I note that he married in 1882 an Alice Rose Watts, and her father was a dealer in colour and oils.
