Cornelius de Neve, portrait painter, is first recorded in a list of members of the Dutch church in London in 1594. Cornelius de Neve, portrait painter, lived in London with his Dutch father. When his father died, his stepmother married John de Critz the younger. In 1627 the Painter-Stainers' Company unsuccessfully attempted to prosecute de Neve along with other foreign artists for failing to obey the company's ordinances.
