Cecil Jameson painted my portrait in oils c1955. He died later than 1962, because I got married in 1966, and he gave me a watercolour self portrait as a wedding present.
He was born in New Zealand; when I knew him, he was living in a hotel in Cheltenham. He was a delightful man; I liked him a lot.

Cecil Jameson moved to Cheltenham around 1946 having been bombed out of London. She painted portraits of two Cheltenham dignitaries: Alderman Clara Winterbotham in 1949 (owned by the Wilson Art Gallery and Museum Cheltenham) for which he was paid 200 guineas and the Mayor in 1950. See Gloucestershire Echo 22 June 1949 and 29th July 1949 which has a photo of Cecil Jameson with his painting at the presentation to Alderman Winterbotham.
