Horatio Beevor Love, sometimes Horace, was born at Norwich on 7 December 1800 and baptised at the Old Meeting House-Independent, Norwich on 8 January 1801, son of Samuel Love and his wife Lydia nee Love, who married at St Martin at the Oak Church, Norwich on 1 May 1785. An exhibitor at the Norwich Society of Artists from Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk in 1819, two paintings 'Moonlight' and 'Sea Storm' he exhibited again in 1821 and 1823 but no address is given, but in 1823 his address was King Street, Norwich and the following year Magdalen Street, Norwich. From 1828 his address was Dove Lane, Norwich which was his home until 1833 when he was at Pottergate Street, Norwich and between those year exhibited over 100 drawings and paintings. A painter in watercolour of portraits of fellow artists, such as John Sell Cotman, John Berney Crome and James Stark and exhibited at the Royal Academy 1833-1836 and, together with Cotman, founded the Norwich Artists' Conversaziones in 1830. He married at St Helen, Norwich on 19 April 1824, Mary Anne Towell and had issue. He was buried at St John the Baptist at Maddermarket, Norwich on 19 August 1838.
