John Cochran

John Cochran was a stipple and line engraver, and a painter of miniatures. He painted many famous figures including Queen Victoria, King William IV and the Duke of York. He concentrated exclusively on portraits, which he exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1821 and 1823, and at the Suffolk Street Gallery from 1821 to 1827.

My cousin has portraits of John Cochran and his family. His daughter Emily Walton Cochran married Edward Churton publisher in London in 1844. They are of his Wife Emily Walton, the daughter Emily Walton Churton, their son John Cochran and John Cochran Senior. We have not been able to find out if he painted them or another artist. Edwin Eric Churton. Ps. Edward & Emily Churton are my great grandparents
