Arthur Askey

Comic actor and radio personality, Askey was one of the first entertainers to use radio as a medium for comedy with his variety show Band Wagon (1938-9). This success led to a career in film and eventually television where he is best remembered for a show based on his catch-phrase, Before Your Very Eyes (1953).
