He was baptised first in Gillingham, Dorset 25th November 1777 and later in Salisbury on 17th July 1779. He was buried in Salisbury 1st April 1832.
He had married Charlotte May (a widow of Arthur Stert May) in1822. Her birth name was Charlotte Tayler.
JP Tinney was mayor of Salisbury in 1805.
His name lives on at Redlynch where Tinney's Firs, now owned by the Woodland Trust remains which he planted in the year of his marriage. I am writing an article on Tinney's Firs.
