If I am correct he was also a member of Sunderland Cricket and Rugby Football Club in his youth and an account of his First World War experiences appears in my club history of the First World War!

Guy Johnson was my father. He was a barrister and became a leading figure in insurance, chairman of the Accident Offices Association, secretary and then chairman of the Air Registration Board in succession to Lord Brabazon. He married Enid Kittel and had four children.
