Rupert Potter (1832-1914), Barrister and photographer; father of Beatrix Potter

Artist associated with 28 portraits
Rupert Potter and his daughter Beatrix were both keen photographers. His favourite subjects were landscapes, but his friendship with Sir John Everett Millais led him to portraiture. Millais rated Potter's portraits so highly that he often used them as the basis for his portraits, including that of prime minister William Gladstone.
