William Robin Thompson was a Canadian Entomolgist. He was born in London Ontario, Canada and completed his Master's of Science degree at Cornell University in 1912 and his Phd in Paris. He was elected FRS in 1933. He was an expert in Biological control, a discipline devoted to the control of infestation by species such as the Gypsy Moth
