Charles Knight

Charles Knight produced a number of prints for Edward and Sylvester Harding's Shakespeare Illustrated (1793) and the Memoirs of Count Grammont(1794), and he stippled a large number of small portraits for books and magazines. He established a reputation for his numerous larger prints after contemporary artists. Between 1784 and 1793, Knight worked chiefly but by no means exclusively for William Dickinson. His work also included a large number of separately published stipples of literary and genre scenes by such artists as Thomas Stothard, Henry Singleton, and Francis Wheatley.
