Editor; Diana Athill met André Deutsch while she was working for the BBC during the War; she joined him as an editor at Allan Wingate in 1946 and in 1952 became an editor and director at André Deutsch Ltd. She is the author of a number of biographical works including Instead of a Letter(1963) and Stet (2000).
