Son of Gervase Henry Cary Elwes and Lady Winifred Mary Elizabeth Feilding (Daughter of the Earl of Denbigh) Born 23rd July 1898 at Glanford Brigg. Nephew of Rt. Rev. Dudley Charles Cary Elwes RC Bp of Northampton. Joined the Navy. Then tried Trappist monastery but left with health problems. Ordained RC priest. (Date not known) Secretary to Archbishop (Cardinal) Hinsley 1935. RC chaplain Oxford University 1955. RIP Dec 1966 Marlborough Wiltshire where he was living with his brother Francis Guy Robert Cary Elwes OBE who predeceased him in June 1966.
