Henry Bridges Fearon (1907-1995), Journalist

Journalist and walker; on leaving school joined the London Evening News where his uncle, P. H. Fearon 'Poy' (a friend of the artist Joseph Simpson) was the political cartoonist. Under the pen-name 'Fiesldfare', his weekly walks column brought his love for the countryside to thousands of readers. Also the author of a number of books on walking including Mark My Footsteps (1956) and The Pilgrimage to Canterbury (1956).
