The nephew and business partner of publisher John Boydell, Josiah Boydell was also an artist. He began exhibiting both historical scenes and portraits at the Royal Academy in 1772. In total, he contributed four large paintings for the Shakespeare Gallery, including King Henry VI, Part One - Act Two, Scene Four.
