Anthony Pincott, The Bookplate Society, London T: 020 7607 5105

The Bath Chronicle of Thursday, December 30, 1784 reported that “Sunday died Mr. Tucker, painter, in Kings-Mead-street”, but this is too brief to give assurance that this death on Boxing Day 1784 was that of the same Nathaniel Tucker. There exists a rare bookplate inscribed N. Tucker of LONDON Face Painter 1740 (unsigned but possibly engraved by Charles Sherborn of Gutter Lane). What more do you know of Nathaniel Tucker, please?
