Well-known for his back-to-basics wholesome approach to organic food and presenting Channel 4 television programmes A Cook on the Wild Side (1998-9), Escape to River Cottage (2000) and River Cottage Forever (2001). Contributes articles to Independent on Sunday, Sunday Telegraph, Sunday Times and The Observer. Books include A Cook on the Wild Side (1997), The Very Best of TV Dinners (1999) and The River Cottage Cookbook (2001).
