One of the leading firms specialising in theatrical portraiture, the Dover Street Studios, based at 38 Dover Street, London, were the successors to the Biograph Studios, whose negatives and stock they took over, as well as Adart, which had specialised in producing photographic advertisements for Pears' Soap.
