I wrote a short piece on Jim Barron back in 2008, six years after his death in 2002. We had been friends for probably around ten years, perhaps a little more when he died. I looked him up on your site today when I heard of the death of Stirling Moss who he had known well and photographed on a number of occasions but you don't have any of those pictures.
In that 2002 piece I quote another article I'd written for the London Independent Photography magazine, LipService when I was editor. That's also on-line but I think the >Re:PHOTO piece quotes it in its entirety.
When I knew him he had retired after a long career as a photographer and film-maker in the Civil Service, some of it making films overseas for the government aid department.
