Chief Moslem of Lagos and pioneer of Moslem education in Nigeria. A civil servant before his enthronement as Oba in 1949, he was the Vice-President of the Senate, the Federal Upper House and President of Lagos Town Council. Awarded a CBE in 1956 and a KBE in 1962.
