Graphic designer. One of the most influential graphic designers working in Britain and a pivotal figure in design and style culture since the start of his collaboration with Joy Division as co-founder of Factory Records in the late 1970s. He has produced iconic images for other bands such as Roxy Music, New Order and Suede, as well as groundbreaking fashion campaigns for Yohji Yamamoto and Stella McCartney and corporate identities for the Whitechapel Art Gallery. He had his first museum retrospective at the Design Museum in London in 2003.
