William Paterson Templeton was my paternal Great Grandfather. He was born on 8 November 1876 in Mile-end, Glasgow to John and Agnes Templeton. He contested the Ross and Cromarty seat in 1911 as a Liberal Unionist and lost to the Liberal candidate. In 1924 he stood for the Unionist Party in Banffshire, won the seat and represented the constituency until 1929. Thereafter he stood for the Conservative Unionist Party in Coatbridge in 1931 where he won the seal and served as Member of Parliament until 1935. He died on 4 July 1938.
