Stage and film actress. Made her stage debut in Major Barbara (1928) at Huddersfield. Starred in five Noel Coward films including In Which we Serve (1942) and Brief Encounter (1945). Stage successes include The Three Sisters (1951) and The Reluctant Debutante (1955).
