I believe that your grandfather sold the current social club Green Hammerton Ltd trading as the village club to Bentleys Yorkshire Breweries Ltd in 1933 and that your ancestors purchased the property in 1875. I believe that William Alexander Todd purchased the premises then as he was trading as Walmgate Breweries? I am researching the club. Thank you Paul Evans chairman

Sir William Alexander Forster Todd, Lord Mayor of York five times, was my great grandfather. I'm trying to find out more about him!
