Casting aside the stereotype of footballers as 'doers' rather than 'thinkers', Johnston transformed the sport footwear market with his Predator football boot which was licensed to Adidas and has become a bestseller. In a successful career as a professional footballer, he won League Cup, FA Cup and European Cup medals. He has also invented and patented a hotel mini-bar shelving system called The Butler. His current project, the Pig, is a further advancement of the technology used in the Predator.
