Steven John Isserlis (1958-), Cellist

Cellist. Made his London recital debut at Wigmore Hall in 1977 and his London concerto debut with the English Chamber Orchestra in 1980. Has performed concerts worldwide. His numerous awards include Time Out's Classical Artist of the Year (2002). Has also published the children's book Why Beethoven Threw the Stew (2001). Awarded the CBE in 1998.
