Research continues into the history and development of the business of Cooke & Nuttall Ltd. A copy of this portrait together with the correspondence relating to the Board of Trade inquiry has been donated to the Horwich Heritage Centre, together with my father's archive of mill photos and documents. More is now known about W E Nuttall's WW1 service with the RFC/RAF and award of OBE (Military Division) - during this period his wife was living at Gilsbrook House on Rivington Lane, just along the road from where my father was born. Little yet known about the introduction of capital into Leonard Cooke's original paper business by T Y Nuttall and the formation of Cooke & Nuttall Ltd in 1898.
