Khan was educated at Aitchison College and Cathedral School in Lahore, later attending the Royal Grammar School Worcester in England. He graduated in 1975 from Keble College, Oxford where he studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics. At Keble College he was involved with college cricket. He began his International cricket career in 1971. Aged thirty, he took over Captaincy of the Pakistani team and was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. In 1995 he married Jemima Goldsmith with whom he has two sons. The couple later divorced. As founder and chairman of Pakistan's Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) political party he was elected the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan serving from August 2018 until April 2022. He married his third wife Bushra Bibi Khan six months before he assumed office as Prime Minister.
