Tom Aikens

(1970-), Chef

Sitter in 2 portraits
Born in Norwich, Aikens's father and grandfather were both wine-merchants. Aikens came to prominence after joining Pied à Terre as Sous Chef in 1993. Following a year in France working alongside Joël Robuchon and Gérard Boyer, Aikens returned to Pied à Terre as Head Chef in 1996, and the restaurant soon earned its second Michelin star. Aikens's reputation was secured when he launched his first restaurant in Chelsea in 2003. Tom's Kitchen and Tom's Terrace at Somerset House followed in 2011.
